BIG GAME FROM A SMALL TEAM
I'm pretty proud of how this project turned out. This is the main title from PixeLakes (formerly Gamesmart) I helped ship during my time there. It released on Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch, and was featured in the "Nindies" showcase by Nintentdo. It's a multiplayer head-to-head puzzle platformer centered around moving, matching and unlocking chests based on color. Doing so sends adversarial lava blocks/runes to your opponents. Everyone had their role to play in making this game happen, but I feel particularly proud of how far outside of my role I stretched to help bring this game to life. I provided creative direction to other artists (although the art style was decided before I started working there), helping to keep a cohesive and consistent vision alive for the game, I was the lead gameplay designer on the head-to-head multiplayer elements of the game, helped design the ranked ladder system, created several popular characters in the game's cast and also designed and implemented the entire UI. So happy with how the game turned out. I still play it with friends to this day!
